after the quake.

I didn't remember to post this. It was around last Wednesday. haha. But I share this small achievement with you, 200th post. Made since 2007. ;D

Well, writing after all, is better than facebook. That's what I thought for the whole of these past months. Social networks don't interest me that much nowadays. haha.
It's only fun when you can chat. haha.

For today, it's really cold, I didn't expect there would be raining in the morning. However so, it feels really calm, really cold and really reminds of France and Swiss, the place where I grew my childhood most.
It rains gently, that if you stick your hand out, you can feel it.

Speaking of waking up, I realized that I woke up really early these past few weeks. It's really "productive" somehow even if you have not much of things to do. Sleep early. Pfft. Being a housekeeper/surirumah seems so easy if you put it in some way. haha.

Yes, you know what I'm talking about. It's about a book, "after the quake/神の子どもたちはみな踊る" written by Haruki Murakami. Kinda reminds me of English class, writing book reviews. That was around 5 years ago. haha!

First of all, I'm the type of person who rarely reads novels and storybooks. I only read newspapers and magazine. Who'd give a damn about some boring story line which is the same after each chapters, repeatable and not enticing.

But this one of a kind. It's different. Totally. 100%. It's not just a piece of work of art where it's like those fairytale novels like Twilight. Surprisingly this book too, does include fantasy, for example a bank negotiator (I don't know what's his job called, it's not said in the book, just described) where he'd go after those people to pay their debts to the bank, in short, gangster-like was asked to save the world. A frog asked him to do that. WTF?! haha. But it's just his dream. Wanna know more? Get the book.

What I told you was only a gist of the novel. Each chapters had different stories and people (which I realized after reading chapter 3, lol). But what's connected between them, their stories are haunted by an earthquake. It's not exactly "haunted", but I could say more like "about earthquakes". Their fear, their childhood, something like slice of life.

In terms of use of words, I found it very unique which I rarely find in the books where I've read in class nor in my leisure times. It's like a bunch of poems collected together and becomes a story, what's more interesting is that it was easy to understand. You couldn't feel sad, but despair. You couldn't feel happy, but joy/cherish. It wasn't exaggerated. It's awesome. I would agree that there are some stuff which is under-18 and boring arcs, slow which is the downside of the novel but yeah. Again, it's a wonderful book. The writer even described how would a dead corpse looked like, I mean precisely. Close to graphic.

Those are only the side-dishes though. The main menu in the novel are their stories. Social issues and problems, all those stuff. Ran away from home, wife and family died, youth life, loneliness, the past, memories and etc.
The stories on how they overcome their fear and pain, knowing even if they have some bad flashbacks of their pasts and also traumatic experiences.

Somewhat reminds me of myself. Those days. The story had lot of people dying and losing people they loved. Even leaving people that they love. I know even if it focuses on loneliness and separation, at least, someone out there understood well about the sadness that people had.

Everyone has their own happiness, but not all of them gets to have it all the time. We live with our parents, taught about intellectual things by teachers and have friends to talk too. Of course, we have things that we loved. But what about the people who didn't have them?
We laugh so loud, we smiled so broad, knowing youth life isn't going to last forever. But little did we know less about the people who wanted their voice to be reached out.

But it seems like their talking to a phone without anyone ringing them up. Who would, share their weight after all? In that way, you have to constantly believing yourself, get a grip and move forward.

Nevertheless that it's a good book. Maybe I didn't write much about "loneliness and separation". Maybe the next post I would. I'd love to elaborate more, I just didn't want to "ruin your day" by sounding gloomy. haha.
